Joxilox NWNA

NWNA AGM β North-West Naturist Association | Joxilox Tours Community Β· July 2023 NWNA AGM By Lofty and Amanda πΏ North-West Naturist Association Β· Founded July 2023 North-West had failed a few years ago but this time it looked very promising. We had noticed a lot of NWNA activity on social media especially on Instagram and Facebook. More importantly, the Board of Directors of Kiepersolkloof, had confirmed their full support of the new NWNA. The owners of Pindrop, Andre and Angelique, had also given NWNA their full support. The Notice of Meeting was published on social media, so we knew that the date was set for 10:00 on Saturday, 15th July, 2023. We knew JJ and Wynand, who are Shareholders of Kiepersolkloof and they had offered to help to establish the new association. We tried to assist by posting the Notice of Meeting on our Joxilox Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages. It is always nice when we all work together for the benefit of all naturist organisations and businesses. We contacted Wynand and he mentioned that a house, Naguiltjie, had become available which made us excited because our Joxilox Tours business needs more houses to rent at Kiepersolkloof. We immediately booked the house for 2 nights being the Friday and Saturday nights. A few weeks later, we noticed that the Springboks would be playing the All Blacks in New Zealand on the 15th July and that the starting time was 09:05. The AGM was meant to start at 10:00 so we let Wynand and JJ know. The starting time of the AGM was then moved to 11:00 which was a relief. Wynand assured us that everybody could watch the game at his house and so we could watch the game and we could also attend the AGM. Great! We arrived early on the Friday and our friends, Pieter and Drika, were already there. We collected the house keys from Wynand and Zelda. The house was nice enough and the view from the veranda was stunning. We unpacked and after a few refreshments, we walked up to the Manor House to greet everybody. The Chairman of SANNA, Christo, and his family were there. The weather was cold, as expected in July, so not many people were completely nude. On the Saturday morning, we wore our Springbok Rugby Jerseys when we watched the game. The result was not what we hoped for β the All Blacks beat the Springboks. After the game, the AGM started. It was quite well attended, considering that it was the middle of winter. We also had a few people who joined the AGM on Zoom. There were lots of apologies, nominations and proxy votes read out. Christo made a speech about the INF, SANNA and naturism. He chaired the meeting while the elections took place. As expected, Wynand and Pieter made a huge bonfire after the AGM and the celebrations and braai carried on until late that night. Most of us were nude around the bonfire for many hours. We enjoyed the company of everybody, and we were sad to say our goodbyes. We enjoyed the weekend at Kiepersolkloof, like we always do. You have our full support NWNA! Joxilox Kingfisher

Our Visit to Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat on the South Coast of KZN | Joxilox Tours Resort Review Β· KwaZulu-Natal South Coast Our Visit to Kingfisher Lakeside Retreaton the South Coast of KZN By Lofty and Amanda π WOW Luxury Safari Tents Β· KZN South Coast Β· Mpenjati Beach We had previously heard a lot of good things about Kingfisher, but we had never been there. After some research, we wondered if our business, Joxilox Tours, would want to take our International Tourists there as part of a new “KZN Mountains and Sea Group Tour”. We contacted Malissa, the owner, who was super-efficient and very friendly. We booked for 3 nights – Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. She confirmed the booking and we started to plan the rest of our trip to KZN. The Chairman, of KZNNA, Graeme, was very helpful and he passed on contact details of a few “naturist-friendly” people and places in KZN (thanks Graeme). We left Joburg at midday on Thursday, 22nd June and we headed for the Drakensberg Mountains. We had booked an overnight stay at a lodge, which is a textile lodge, with stunning views of the mountains. We had been hiking there many times over the years, so we knew the place. On the Friday morning we attended a meeting at a Guest Farm which is textile but naturist-friendly if we book the whole lodge. We were shown 2 cottages which each had 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and each bathroom has a jacuzzi. Those cottages are more private than the rest of the accommodation. The lodge ticked all the boxes for our International Tourists. Within an hour, we headed for Lions River, near Howick to see 2 more naturist friendly lodges. Both lodges were owned by naturists, and both lodges ticked all the boxes for future group tours. The accommodation at both places was suitable. The one farm had 9 chalets and the other had 6 double rooms. We decided to include them as part of our group tours. There are lots of excursions in the area including Howick Falls, the Capture Place of Nelson Mandela and Piggly Wiggly which has a coffee shop, pizza place and a wine estate. There are also numerous restaurants, shops, pubs and activities in the Midlands Meander. The Belgium Chocolate and Waffle places caught my eye. Just after midday we left Lions River and we headed for the South Coast. We couldn’t wait to see the Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat. On arrival, we received a HUGE welcome from the managers, Fanie and Fia. Over the next 3 days we got to know them, and you will not find a nicer couple. Part of the feel-good welcome was a small sign with our names on the sign, wishing us an enjoyable holiday. There were also a lot of feel-good messages painted onto smooth stones. Those messages on stones are in the safari tents, in the cottage and next to the path all the way down to the Mpenjati beach. The Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat has WiFi and inverters (so guests are not affected by load shedding). There are 4 luxury safari tents and a 2 bedroomed cottage. Nick and Lins of Naked Wanderings had been there, and they had made a video which is on YouTube, and now that we were there, we were amazed that the Safari Tents were not just luxury β they were “WOW”! Two of the four luxury safari tents have their own swimming pool (with 2 tanning beds) and apart from a nice shower they also have a high-back bath and twin hand basins in the bathroom. There is a queen size bed in the main bedroom and 2 single beds in the second bedroom. Everything is on a wooden deck including a bonfire place, a lounge suite and a table and chairs for meals. The other 2 safari tents do not have a swimming pool or a bath, but they are similar. The kitchens are well equipped with a large modern fridge, a microwave oven, a gas stove, a kettle, toaster and all the cutlery and crockery expected in a luxury safari tent. There are plenty of cupboards and drawers which are “monkey-proof”. Monkeys can sometimes be faster than the speed of light if you leave any food around. We relaxed and we tanned nude even though it was winter. Of course, we had to take a walk to the Mpenjati (unofficial) Naturist Beach which is just down the path. We spent an evening around the fire with Fanie and Fia and we just “clicked” with them. They were very interesting, and we wish that they would write a book about their lives β we would want to buy the first copy. Every day, at least 4 or 5 wild animals walked past our tent β they were a type of buck. There was also a lot of birdlife. Every morning, we woke up to the sound of birds. It reminded us of our home at SunEden. This really was a “home away from home”. We could not find fault with the Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat. We felt tearful as we said goodbye to our new friends, Fanie and Fia. We recommend that you book a holiday there. Joxilox Pindrop

Our Visit to Pindrop Guest Farm near Groot Marico | Joxilox Tours Resort Review Β· Groot Marico Our Visit to Pindrop Guest Farmnear Groot Marico By Lofty and Amanda πΏ New Naturist Venue Β· Groot Marico Β· North-West Amanda and I heard about a new naturist guest farm and of course our tour business, Joxilox Tours, is always looking for more naturist accommodation so we contacted the owners, Andre and Angelique. They had recently bought a guest farm near Groot Marico, and they planned to turn it into a NATURIST venue. Apart from the Main Farmhouse, which is their home and also the Guest Farm Reception, they have 5 cottages: Bergsig: 3 bedrooms (2 with double beds and 1 with 2 single beds), 2 bathrooms. Blinkwater: 2 bedrooms (1 with a double bed and 1 with 2 single beds), 1 bathroom. Kingfisher: 2 bedrooms (both with en-suite bathrooms and both with double beds. Kranskuil: 2 bedrooms (both with double beds), a loft with 3 single beds, 2 bathrooms (1 with shower and 1 with bath). Getsemaane: 4 bedrooms (all 4 with double beds) and 2 lofts each with 2 single beds), 2 bathrooms. Angelique was very friendly, and she immediately invited us to come and see the farm. We booked Kranskuil which was far from the other cottages because we wanted to be nude for the whole weekend, of course. At that stage, the new Pindrop Guest Farm had not opened yet. It happened to be a long weekend at the end of April, and we had booked the Friday and Saturday nights there. On Thursday, 27th April (Freedom Day), Amanda and I were tanning at our SunEden home, when I asked Amanda what she thought of us camping at Kiepersolkloof that night and I suggested that we also camp there on the Sunday night after our two nights at Pindrop, and much to my surprise, she loved the idea. Monday, 1st May was also a Public Holiday. Within an hour we had loaded our tent and camping equipment and we were on our way. As usual, we received a warm welcome at the Kiepersolkloof Gate but apart from Herman, this time, a very good friend of ours, Fritz, from Randfontein, was also there to meet us. Everybody loves Fritz and it was great to see him again after not seeing him for a few years. We drove down to the Camping Area, and we erected the tent and we unpacked. While unpacking, Wynand, and later JJ, popped around and welcomed us. It is always nice to feel welcome. Eddie, Gail, Pieter and Drika were also camping there, and it was super to see them again. We also saw our good friend, Derek, who is such a nice guy. On the Friday morning we had breakfast and then we drove to the Pindrop Guest Farm in the Groot Marico area, which was less than an hour’s drive from Kiepersolkloof. Andre and Angelique gave us a HUGE welcome. After a quick chat, we were given the key for Kranskuil and we drove through the whole farm to the very private house at the end of the road β passing the other 4 cottages on the way. They all looked very nice. Kranskuil overlooks the Marico River, and the view of the river is “WOW”. There is a wooden deck with a built-in braai. Next to the house, there is a cliff, which actually becomes a feature within the 2 bathrooms of the house. Next to the cliff, overlooking the river, there is a bonfire area. The kitchen was well-equipped, so Amanda was very happy. Downstairs there are 2 lovely bedrooms and 2 bathrooms β 1 with a bath and the other with a shower. There is also a nice lounge. Upstairs is a loft with 3 single beds so in total, 7 people could sleep in that house. There are large trees near the house so there is plenty of shade for the cars. The lawns next to the river are ideal for tanning. There is complete privacy, so we spent most of the weekend nude. On the Saturday morning, Amanda and I went for a walk, and we looked at some of the cottages. Andre and Angelique popped around for a few drinks and a chat on the Saturday afternoon and Andre mentioned that he is busy upgrading and maintaining the cottages which he hoped to complete before summer. He is also upgrading the electricity. Angelique mentioned their plans to turn Pindrop into a world class facility with camping areas, swimming pools, a pub, party facilities and a lot more. We became excited on their behalf. South Africa needs more world class naturist facilities. We decided to give them our full support. On the Sunday, we had breakfast and then after saying our goodbyes, we headed back to Kiepersolkloof where our tent was still looking good even though it had rained overnight. That night we arranged to have a braai and bonfire with everybody on the farm. Wynand, Zelda, Fritz, Herman and Irene joined us as well as Eddie, Gail, Pieter, Drika and other guests. We enjoyed the long weekend so much and headed for home feeling completely refreshed. Thank you, Andre and Angelique, for your hospitality. We loved every minute. To book accommodation at the Pindrop Guest Farm contact Angelique by Whatsapp or phone on 071 211 9111. The 5 Cottages Accommodation at Pindrop Bergsig 3 bedrooms (2 double + 1 twin), 2 bathrooms. Our Visit To Valalta Naturist Resort, Croatia

Our Holiday at Valalta Naturist Resort, Croatia | Joxilox Tours International Resort Review Β· Croatia Our Holiday at ValaltaNaturist Resort, Croatia By Lofty of Joxilox Tours ππ· Valalta Β· Croatia Β· 121 Hectares Β· 7,500 Naturists I hope that I can describe our holiday at Valalta without it sounding like an exaggeration but at the same time I need to give Valalta the credit that it deserves, so here goes: It would be unfair to compare Valalta with any other resort, so I am just going to mention our one week holiday at Valalta. We flew to Prague in Czech Republic and our friend, Michal was waiting at the airport for us. We spent a day and a half at Michal’s lovely home catching up on sleep because neither Amanda nor I had managed to sleep on the plane. Funny enough, Czech Republic is the same time zone as South Africa but the first difference we noticed was that in summer there, the sun starts rising at about 4am and only sets at about 10pm. We decided to leave at 5am on the Saturday, because we had arranged an 8am meeting in Austria with Sieglinde Ivo, the President of the International Naturist Federation (INF), who also happens to be the President of the Austrian Naturist Federation. We wanted her advice about a number of matters but our main aim was to attract international Naturist Tourists to South Africa. When we woke up, it was raining cats and dogs and with wet weather and driving on the right side of the road, we tried to relax but we were very excited and nervous at the same time. Luckily both Michal and Martina are very good drivers and better still they are great hosts so they went out of their way to make us enjoy our holiday. The meeting with the President in Austria went well and we were given INF golf shirts, key rings, stickers etc. Thank you so much Sieglinde! We were thrilled with our meeting but as we entered Slovenia and then Croatia, Amanda and I were like two little kids, smiling, winking at each other and squeezing hands like naughty teenagers. We had heard all about Valalta and for a few months it was “min dae” (in English “few days”) but at this stage of the trip it was not just a few days but down to a few hours and then a few minutes. We arrived at Valalta at about 3pm. There are a number of “House Rules” at Valalta and Michal had been there on numerous occasions so we already knew most of the rules. We had to “cover up” when in the reception/office area, in the supermarkets and in the restaurants (only at night). Normally Michal is the first to strip, closely followed by Amanda and Martina and I am normally last but we arrived fully clothed and went into the Reception Area. I can only compare the reception area to a City Lodge or Holiday Inn except better and more staff. We were welcomed in German but the friendly lady soon realised that we speak English and she quickly switched to English. They were “on the ball” β had all the paperwork ready, took all of our passports so they could register all of us in their own time and within less than 5 minutes we had the keys for the chalet and with a map clearly marked in pen, we had directions to our accommodation. By the way, in the reception area, there is a foreign exchange clerk, 2 ATMs, an information clerk who also controls the Wi-Fi and about 6 computers on line for visitors and she also hands out DVDs of Valalta, maps, house rules, brochures, information about Rovinj, the nearby town and things to do etc. This “on the ball” way of doing business is evidently influenced by the many German speaking naturists and this strive for perfection is very evident. This is not easy when you consider that Valalta is 121 Hectares and has a capacity of 7,500 visitors/naturists and 400 staff. There are 2,600 camping/caravan sites and 1,231 apartments. The day that we arrived (28th June), there were 4,300 visitors there but that would increase daily as school holidays started in various countries and they were expecting to have over 7,000 visitors by the end of July. Visitors are mostly from Germany, then Austria followed by Italy and then a few from other European countries, we soon got to learn by the car number plates, which country the car was from. Each chalet has a number (thank heavens not a tree, animal or bird name LOL) and the same number appears on the allocated parking place which is under shade cloth. So with 1,231 parking places plus a lot more for day visitors, they are in rows next to the tarred roads and not close to the chalets. The chalets are in a type of a maze and only bicycles enter the maze β not cars. That reminds me, you can hire bicycles but most of the visitors from Europe bring their own bicycles and I am not exaggerating when I state that a few thousand bicycles were there. Valalta has paved paths for pedestrians and some for bicycles only so we had to read the signs or we would have been in trouble with cyclists. The two bedroom chalet which we shared with Michal and Martina was better than we expected and even had a dishwashing machine. The cleaning lady did not wash dishes but she did clean the house and made up the beds every morning. Of course, all 400 staff wear clothes but nobody has an issue with that. She wore neat light blue shorts, a white golf shirt and sneakers (takkies). Even though they greeted the guests, they were always busy doing their job, never smoking, never sitting around and never over-friendly. There were 2 teams of Security Guards each made up of
