and Sea Group Tour

Elephant herd crossing the road โ€“ Joxilox Internatuur Safari and Sea Tour November 2024
๐ŸŒ 16 Dutch Guests ยท Safari & Sea ยท November 2024

The tour started at SunEden on Friday, 8th November 2024. Most of our 16 guests were Dutch and they all arrived after 10pm on that Friday night. Amanda had arranged drinks, coffee and snacks which were enjoyed by our guests even though it was after midnight. Lofty used that time to deliver all the luggage to the various chalets. While at SunEden, all 3 meals per day were supplied by the SunCafe and the guests were quite happy with the food and the service was really great.

After the late night, our guests rested on the Saturday and Sunday, then on the Monday, we took them to the beautiful Bird of Paradise in Vanderbijlpark. We all undressed, and we only wore sarongs in the minibuses, on the way to the Vaal River. We boarded the boat and after a few minutes, the Captain, Jade, gave us the go ahead to remove the sarongs. As usual the food platters were delicious and more than enough to feed an army. Dave and Deon also ensured that the beers and wine were cold. If you have not been to Bird of Paradise, we suggest that you go there. Our guests really enjoyed the 3-hour naked boat cruise.

On that Tuesday, our guests attended their first safari (game drive) at the Dinokeng Game Reserve where they saw 3 of the Big5 animals. They also saw giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and many other wild animals and birds. We had breakfast at the Mongena Private Lodge and the food was delicious. Our guests enjoyed the relaxation at the pools that afternoon.

On the Wednesday, after breakfast, we headed for the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. We had booked the whole guesthouse and so we were able to be nude while we were there, not only in the pool area but also in the restaurant. That afternoon, our guests went on a safari with a very good guide who went out of his way to find the Big5 animals and other animals such as Hippos. Once again, the guests saw 3 of the Big 5 but not the same Big5 as in Dinokeng. On the Thursday, the plan was to go in a Hot Air Balloon, but it was too windy, so it was cancelled. We then booked another safari, and our guests were thrilled with that second game drive.

On the Friday we went to Lesedi Cultural Village and some of our guests went on the Harties Cableway. The lunch was enjoyed by everybody especially the crocodile and kudu. After lunch we went to the Desnudo Naturist Resort where we were welcomed by Jacques and Laura. We showed the guests around the resort and then we had a skinny dip and a drink sponsored by Joxilox Tours. Our guests were suitably impressed by the beautiful resort and especially the plans to build much more accommodation and a new restaurant and pub.

The second weekend at SunEden was so much busier than the previous weekend because it was the annual clothing optional weekend which was fully booked. Our guests sang at the karaoke, played naked golf at the Sunlinks Golf Course, and they also had massages. On the Sunday, we took our guests to the Apartheid Museum and to the Voortrekker Monument which they really enjoyed even though there was far too much to read about our history.

History, Culture & the KwaZulu-Natal Coast

On the Monday, we went to the Union Buildings to see the beautiful gardens and the statue of Nelson Mandela. We then drove to Lions River which was a long trip. We stopped for lunch at Villiers and we stopped at another 3 places for a toilet break and to stretch our legs. The guests bought "refreshments" at the Tops/Super Spar in Howick before we booked in at the River Bend Farm. The accommodation was "WOW" and we gathered at the Clubhouse for drinks. We had booked the whole resort and so we were able to be nude while there.

The owner, Errol, had recommended the Hebron Haven Hotel for meals so we had dinner there and the food and service was so good that we had breakfast twice. On the Tuesday, we went to the Nelson Mandela Capture Site and the Howick Falls before we had lunch at Piggly Wiggly. There were wine shops, chocolate shops and other interesting shops there but our guests were quite happy to go to River Bend where they could relax, drink wine and beer while wearing nothing but a smile.

On the Wednesday, we drove to the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal where we booked into the Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat and also into Nelson's Nest. Kingfisher has 4 Safari Tents, 2 of them with their own swimming pool. There is also a nice 2 bedroomed cottage all with en-suite bedrooms. There is a beach path that goes down to the non-official Mpenjati Naturist Beach. Our guests really enjoyed their time at the resort. Nelson's Nest has 5 bedrooms and a stunning view of the sea. One of the couples invited the rest of the group to see the house and to have filter coffee and biscuits. The plan was then for the whole group to walk along the beach from Nelson's Nest to Kingfisher. Unfortunately, the road and path to the beach has washed away so our guests could not walk along that part of the beach.

We spent 4 nights there, and excursions included a visit to the Red Desert, The Beaver Creek Coffee Farm Tour, Milkshakes at Mac Banana, a visit to Oribi Gorge and a swim at the Mpenjati Beach (but it rained). Some of our guests enjoyed the Zipline at the Oribi Gorge while others saw the cave, the suspension bridge and beautiful viewpoints. The dinners were at 3 very nice restaurants and of course we had a braai (barbeque) at Kingfisher.

Our guests were sad when the tour ended, and Amanda and I were tearful when our guests made a speech thanking us for a good tour. We are so grateful that our Dutch Partner, Christy-Anne, of Internatuur, had booked the tour. She created a lot of fun events, and she had everybody singing with her. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
