Joxilox Feathered Nest Visit Dec 2023

Joxilox Tours Visit to the Feathered Nest Naturist Friendly Guest Farm | Joxilox Tours Resort Review ยท December 2023 Joxilox Tours Visit to the Feathered NestNaturist Friendly Guest Farm By Lofty of Joxilox Tours ๐ฟ Solo Day Visit ยท Rustenburg Area ยท 17 December 2023 We noticed a North-West Naturist Association post on Social Media, regarding a NEW naturist friendly guest farm situated in the Rustenburg area. At Joxilox Tours we are always looking for new naturist friendly accommodation. JJ kindly sent pics and contact details to us and as soon as there was an opportunity, I contacted the owner, Martin, to arrange a day visit to see the place. Amanda was away in New Zealand visiting her family so I decided to visit the Feathered Nest guest farm on Sunday, 17th December, 2023. Martin kindly sent a pin to me, and I headed in that direction from the Magaliesberg side. After passing the turnoff to Harmony it was still quite a long way until I saw the Olifantsnek Dam on the right and the GPS took me left onto the Boons Road. It was a tar road, so I was happy until the GPS took me left again onto a gravel road. After about 5kms it took me left again towards the farm. The owner, Martin, was waiting for me at the gate and after introductions I followed him on his quad bike to the parking area, where I was introduced to Marion, who is Martin’s business partner and part owner of the guest farm. Both Marion and Martin have extensive tour guide and tour operator experience and so we clicked immediately. After some discussions, Martin showed me the accommodation and facilities which can only be described as “WOW”. There are 4 stand-alone houses which each have a bath and an outdoor shower (hot and cold water) and very private. The accommodation was way better than most of the other accommodation which we have seen at naturist friendly places. There are plenty of trees between the houses, so guests are really in the bush where it feels as though time stands still as you forget about business and about stress. All accommodation prices include DINNER, BED AND BREAKFAST (Half Board) so keep in mind that the cooking/meals are included and they are also “WOW”. The Management at Feathered Nest have a mission to treat their guests like they are royalty โ only the best is good enough and they are proud about their “ATTENTION TO DETAIL” which includes all sorts of surprises which are highly confidential, but I will give you a tip โ think chocolates โ shhh. They have an HONESTY BAR with no barman, so you help yourself to your favourite refreshments and you just make a note in the book. The swimming pool looked good with clear, sparkling water. They also look after the “orphans” in the area so do not be surprised if you see a small bush-baby or an owl or any bird or animal needing rehabilitation. They often adopt that injured or unwanted bird or animal and they let them go again once they are ready to leave. What was my impression? Good quality accommodation, lovely people, great food ALL at a reasonable price โ not cheap. There are no camping facilities. If you can afford the prices, you will not be sorry โ book now! Joxilox OUMA

Our Visit to OUMA (Lauma Aurora) | Joxilox Tours Resort Review ยท Lauma Aurora Our Visit to OUMA(Lauma Aurora) By Lofty and Amanda ๐ฟ Naturist Bush Camp ยท Between Bela Bela & Thabazimbi We are always very happy when we hear that a new Naturist Resort has opened and so when we saw a new naturist venue on Social Media, called Lauma Aurora, we were very excited. We contacted the owners, and we introduced Joxilox Tours to them. They were very friendly, and they said that we were more than welcome to go there to see the place and to take pictures. Christo, the SANNA Chairman, had also contacted them but when we discussed the venue, we could not remember the name, Lauma Aurora, so we referred to the resort as OUMA. It sounded good when we said that we are going to OUMA for a visit. A few weeks later Amanda and I arranged a day visit to meet the owners in person and we asked Christo and Lana if they would like to join us which they agreed to do. The weather was rainy and cool, but we thought that it might be sunny by the time we arrived at OUMA which is between Bela Bela and Thabazimbi. We drove through some large puddles on the gravel road, and we can only blame Waze for taking us to the wrong side of the OUMA Farm. After a phone call we found our way to the correct entrance. Despite the cool, rainy, weather the welcome was warm when we were greeted by the owners. After a tour of the resort, we were told that Lauma Aurora (OUMA) is a BUSH CAMP for naturists and NOT a naturist resort. They have naturist weekends and textile weekends. The plan is to increase the naturist weekends if there is a demand. There are 6 cabins โ 2 thatched brick buildings and 4 wooden log cabins. Four are for couples and two cabins also have single beds for a couple and two children or for two couples. There is therefore place for a maximum of 8 couples. Two of the cabins have private Jacuzzis. Once the naturists start to support the business, then the owners are prepared to build ablutions for camping sites. We were very impressed with the facilities. There is a heated pool under cover and an outdoor pool in the sun. A thatched shaded area next to the pool area provides shade on a hot day. The reception area has a dart board, a pool table and some board games. The pub and restaurant are really nice and breakfast is included in the accommodation price. The Boma is the place where the guests have a braai and a bonfire. We were invited to the home of the owners where we enjoyed some fruit juice. We offered them our support and Christo handed a book on naturism to the owners. We also suggested that they visit SunEden sometime. A few weeks later, the daughter of the owners, together with her husband, popped around at SunEden for discussions and refreshments. Return Visit The April Weekend โ Bonfires, Braais & the Fisherman’s Song We noticed that Lauma Aurora (OUMA), was advertising a Valentine’s Weekend and Christo, Lana, Francois, Marique, Amanda and I booked cabins for that event. The Valentine’s event also included a braai on the Saturday night and breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday mornings. We paid and we received confirmation. Unfortunately, there were major floods on that Valentine’s Weekend and so it was cancelled. We did not ask for a refund, we decided to book on another weekend once the weather improved. We booked a cabin at OUMA for the weekend of 14th to 16th April and we posted an advert on Social Media hoping that some of our friends would join us. After a few days, Wynand and Zelda let us know that they had booked for that weekend. We were also joined by Eddie, the GNA Chairman and his partner, Gail and another couple had booked but we were not sure if we knew them. It turned out that we knew them and they were a very nice couple. The weather forecast prediction was sunny and hot for that weekend and so we decided to get there by 12:00 midday on the Friday. Eddie and Gail arrived just after us and Wynand and Zelda an hour later. The daughter of the owners then arrived with her husband and then the 4th Couple arrived as the sun was setting. By then we were sitting around the fire in the boma. There was a lot of joking and laughing which is the reason that there is a saying in Afrikaans: “ons gaan NOU braai”. When we are having a good time, we put off the braai-ing until later. We all had dinner and then we added the logs onto the fire and we made a proper bonfire. On the Saturday morning we had breakfast in the restaurant and despite load shedding, the breakfast was perfect. At Ouma, breakfast is included in the price of the accommodation. After breakfast, the GNA Chairman, Eddie, had a meeting with the owners to discuss GNA membership and benefits and the rest of us tanned at the pool. The real Ouma (owner) challenged us to skinny dip in the cold-water pool and Amanda accepted the challenge followed by others. We tanned for a few hours and then we all went to our cabins for a light lunch. That afternoon there was light rain for a few minutes but by sunset, it was sunny and warm, so we decided to braai again. We sang the Fisherman’s Song after a few beers and a good time was had by all. On Sunday morning, the weather was cloudy and cool. We enjoyed another perfect breakfast in the restaurant and then we slowly packed up and said our goodbyes. Will we go back to OUMA again? Yes, for sure.
Joxilox Palm Beach Chalets

Our Visit to Palm Beach Chalets and Mpenjati Naturist Friendly Beach | Joxilox Tours Resort Review ยท KwaZulu-Natal South Coast Our Visit to Palm Beach Chaletsand Mpenjati Naturist Friendly Beach By Lofty of Joxilox Tours ๐ 7 Nights ยท KZN South Coast ยท July Winter is not always the best time to go to the South Coast but that did not stop us. We contacted Mandy, the owner of the Palm Beach Chalets and she was very pleasant and super-efficient. We knew that it is textile accommodation unless we book all 3 chalets in which case, we could be nude. With Mpenjati Naturist Friendly Beach just down the road, we decided that we could go textile at the chalet and then we could spend time nude at the Mpenjati Naturist Beach. We booked for 7 nights in July, and we looked forward our short holiday there. We had a lucky week there because there were no other guests, so we were able to go nude anyway. On the second day we decided to drive to the Oribi Gorge and Leopard Rock. The drive was pleasant, and the scenery was beautiful. The restaurant had great food, fast service and there was a stunning view. We also went to the Red Desert, which is the smallest desert in the world. On the Saturday morning we parked at the Mpenjati North side, and we went on a walk at the Mpenjati Reserve. There is a wooden look-out point on the walk which overlooks the Mpenjati estuary. It was a very enjoyable walk and it had been well maintained. There was a lot of birdlife and plenty of trees and bushes. The wild bucks are often there as well. We enjoyed the walk with a very local lady who certainly knows everything about the Mpenjati area. We also walked on the actual Mpenjati Naturist Beach. There was only 1 naturist tanning nude there. On the Sunday, we decided to go back to the Mpenjati Beach for a swim and to see if there were any naturists there. There was another one naturist there but a local guy, Nicolaas, arrived with his dog. Most of the naturists know him because he is really a nice guy, and he does all sorts of exercises on the beach (nude of course). I had a long chat to him about naturism and about the law. He is really on the ball, I had appreciated his help and support a few years ago when the Deputy Public Protector was on the beach with us during the investigations about the legality of the Mpenjati Naturist Friendly Beach. The pastor who had complained about the nudist beach was there and I am 100% sure that Nicolaas knows the bible better than the pastor. He was happy to quote versus of the bible and the pastor was out of his depth in my opinion. Nicolaas had also been a witness in a court case regarding naturists at Mpenjati and the findings were NOT GUILTY, and all costs were paid by the person who had complained about the nudity. As most of us know, the Public Protector gave the municipality 30 days to withdraw the approval of the Mpenjati Naturist Beach which they did. It is therefore NOT AN OFFICIAL NUDIST BEACH, so we are always careful not to offend anybody. The only way to have a legal nudist beach in South Africa is to have the Act amended which bans public nudity. To get that Act amended would be possible but highly unlikely, as long as church groups are going to object to nudity in public โ like on a nudist beach. That beach has been used by naturists for over 30 years and it will be used for the next 30 years as well. When we arrived back at the Palm Beach Chalets the weather was hot, so I tanned nude for a few hours. We had a braai that night. The 3 chalets are very affordable and value for the price compared to other accommodation in the area. Each chalet has a main bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a hand basin. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a breakfast nook. There are single beds or double bunks in the lounge area which has a TV. There is a built-in braai outside with plastic garden furniture. The pool was clean and there was a tanning bed. Will we go back again? Yes, for sure! We are pleased to see that tourism is almost back to normal despite wars in some countries and despite load shedding and other problems in South Africa. We were thrilled to have 9 international guests here in November 2023. We had guests from Netherlands, Germany, Britain, New Zealand and Denmark. The first couple arrived on 1st November and the last couple left on 23rd November. The actual Group Tour was for 14 nights from 3rd to 17th November. All tours start and end at SunEden and we supply Full Board which means that we provided 3 meals per day. Many of those meals were at the SunCafe of SunEden but our tourists also had meals at 10 other restaurants in those 2 weeks. The tour started with 3 nights at SunEden including Game Drives (safaris) in the Dinokeng Game Reserve and then we went to Pilanesberg Game Reserve for 2 nights with visits to the Maropeng Cradle of Humankind on the way there and to the Lesedi Cultural Village on the way back. We booked the whole guesthouse at Pilanesberg, so we were able to skinny dip and to go nude while we were there. We went on 2 game drives (safaris) โ each of 3 hours. We then went to the Cullinan Diamond Mine before spending another weekend at SunEden. That weekend was Clothing Optional, and our guests enjoyed the Karaoke on the Friday night and the Jazz and Wine event on the Saturday. Some of our guests enjoyed a massage under the trees near the SunEden pool. They also enjoyed walks around the perimeter and through the golf course. They could also watch the Springboks and Blesboks from the Bird Hide. On the next Monday we went to Graskop with stops at Alzu where we saw Rhinos, Buffaloes and numerous buck types and then we had lunch at Kumi in Schoemanskloof on the way to Graskop. We stayed at Graskop for 3 nights where we had great food and of course we went to Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, Lisbon Falls and the Graskop Gorge where our one guest went on the Zip Lines. The weather at Graskop was sometimes rainy, cloudy and misty but we managed to get great pictures at all the excursions. Our guests looked forward to the relaxation at SunEden after the tour. According to our guests, SunEden is a world class naturist resort with great accommodation, great facilities, great weather, and great excursions nearby. NWNA AGM โ North-West Naturist Association | Joxilox Tours Community ยท July 2023 NWNA AGM By Lofty and Amanda ๐ฟ North-West Naturist Association ยท Founded July 2023 North-West had failed a few years ago but this time it looked very promising. We had noticed a lot of NWNA activity on social media especially on Instagram and Facebook. More importantly, the Board of Directors of Kiepersolkloof, had confirmed their full support of the new NWNA. The owners of Pindrop, Andre and Angelique, had also given NWNA their full support. The Notice of Meeting was published on social media, so we knew that the date was set for 10:00 on Saturday, 15th July, 2023. We knew JJ and Wynand, who are Shareholders of Kiepersolkloof and they had offered to help to establish the new association. We tried to assist by posting the Notice of Meeting on our Joxilox Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages. It is always nice when we all work together for the benefit of all naturist organisations and businesses. We contacted Wynand and he mentioned that a house, Naguiltjie, had become available which made us excited because our Joxilox Tours business needs more houses to rent at Kiepersolkloof. We immediately booked the house for 2 nights being the Friday and Saturday nights. A few weeks later, we noticed that the Springboks would be playing the All Blacks in New Zealand on the 15th July and that the starting time was 09:05. The AGM was meant to start at 10:00 so we let Wynand and JJ know. The starting time of the AGM was then moved to 11:00 which was a relief. Wynand assured us that everybody could watch the game at his house and so we could watch the game and we could also attend the AGM. Great! We arrived early on the Friday and our friends, Pieter and Drika, were already there. We collected the house keys from Wynand and Zelda. The house was nice enough and the view from the veranda was stunning. We unpacked and after a few refreshments, we walked up to the Manor House to greet everybody. The Chairman of SANNA, Christo, and his family were there. The weather was cold, as expected in July, so not many people were completely nude. On the Saturday morning, we wore our Springbok Rugby Jerseys when we watched the game. The result was not what we hoped for โ the All Blacks beat the Springboks. After the game, the AGM started. It was quite well attended, considering that it was the middle of winter. We also had a few people who joined the AGM on Zoom. There were lots of apologies, nominations and proxy votes read out. Christo made a speech about the INF, SANNA and naturism. He chaired the meeting while the elections took place. As expected, Wynand and Pieter made a huge bonfire after the AGM and the celebrations and braai carried on until late that night. Most of us were nude around the bonfire for many hours. We enjoyed the company of everybody, and we were sad to say our goodbyes. We enjoyed the weekend at Kiepersolkloof, like we always do. You have our full support NWNA! Joxilox Kingfisher

Our Visit to Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat on the South Coast of KZN | Joxilox Tours Resort Review ยท KwaZulu-Natal South Coast Our Visit to Kingfisher Lakeside Retreaton the South Coast of KZN By Lofty and Amanda ๐ WOW Luxury Safari Tents ยท KZN South Coast ยท Mpenjati Beach We had previously heard a lot of good things about Kingfisher, but we had never been there. After some research, we wondered if our business, Joxilox Tours, would want to take our International Tourists there as part of a new “KZN Mountains and Sea Group Tour”. We contacted Malissa, the owner, who was super-efficient and very friendly. We booked for 3 nights – Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. She confirmed the booking and we started to plan the rest of our trip to KZN. The Chairman, of KZNNA, Graeme, was very helpful and he passed on contact details of a few “naturist-friendly” people and places in KZN (thanks Graeme). We left Joburg at midday on Thursday, 22nd June and we headed for the Drakensberg Mountains. We had booked an overnight stay at a lodge, which is a textile lodge, with stunning views of the mountains. We had been hiking there many times over the years, so we knew the place. On the Friday morning we attended a meeting at a Guest Farm which is textile but naturist-friendly if we book the whole lodge. We were shown 2 cottages which each had 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and each bathroom has a jacuzzi. Those cottages are more private than the rest of the accommodation. The lodge ticked all the boxes for our International Tourists. Within an hour, we headed for Lions River, near Howick to see 2 more naturist friendly lodges. Both lodges were owned by naturists, and both lodges ticked all the boxes for future group tours. The accommodation at both places was suitable. The one farm had 9 chalets and the other had 6 double rooms. We decided to include them as part of our group tours. There are lots of excursions in the area including Howick Falls, the Capture Place of Nelson Mandela and Piggly Wiggly which has a coffee shop, pizza place and a wine estate. There are also numerous restaurants, shops, pubs and activities in the Midlands Meander. The Belgium Chocolate and Waffle places caught my eye. Just after midday we left Lions River and we headed for the South Coast. We couldn’t wait to see the Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat. On arrival, we received a HUGE welcome from the managers, Fanie and Fia. Over the next 3 days we got to know them, and you will not find a nicer couple. Part of the feel-good welcome was a small sign with our names on the sign, wishing us an enjoyable holiday. There were also a lot of feel-good messages painted onto smooth stones. Those messages on stones are in the safari tents, in the cottage and next to the path all the way down to the Mpenjati beach. The Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat has WiFi and inverters (so guests are not affected by load shedding). There are 4 luxury safari tents and a 2 bedroomed cottage. Nick and Lins of Naked Wanderings had been there, and they had made a video which is on YouTube, and now that we were there, we were amazed that the Safari Tents were not just luxury โ they were “WOW”! Two of the four luxury safari tents have their own swimming pool (with 2 tanning beds) and apart from a nice shower they also have a high-back bath and twin hand basins in the bathroom. There is a queen size bed in the main bedroom and 2 single beds in the second bedroom. Everything is on a wooden deck including a bonfire place, a lounge suite and a table and chairs for meals. The other 2 safari tents do not have a swimming pool or a bath, but they are similar. The kitchens are well equipped with a large modern fridge, a microwave oven, a gas stove, a kettle, toaster and all the cutlery and crockery expected in a luxury safari tent. There are plenty of cupboards and drawers which are “monkey-proof”. Monkeys can sometimes be faster than the speed of light if you leave any food around. We relaxed and we tanned nude even though it was winter. Of course, we had to take a walk to the Mpenjati (unofficial) Naturist Beach which is just down the path. We spent an evening around the fire with Fanie and Fia and we just “clicked” with them. They were very interesting, and we wish that they would write a book about their lives โ we would want to buy the first copy. Every day, at least 4 or 5 wild animals walked past our tent โ they were a type of buck. There was also a lot of birdlife. Every morning, we woke up to the sound of birds. It reminded us of our home at SunEden. This really was a “home away from home”. We could not find fault with the Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat. We felt tearful as we said goodbye to our new friends, Fanie and Fia. We recommend that you book a holiday there. Joxilox Pindrop

Our Visit to Pindrop Guest Farm near Groot Marico | Joxilox Tours Resort Review ยท Groot Marico Our Visit to Pindrop Guest Farmnear Groot Marico By Lofty and Amanda ๐ฟ New Naturist Venue ยท Groot Marico ยท North-West Amanda and I heard about a new naturist guest farm and of course our tour business, Joxilox Tours, is always looking for more naturist accommodation so we contacted the owners, Andre and Angelique. They had recently bought a guest farm near Groot Marico, and they planned to turn it into a NATURIST venue. Apart from the Main Farmhouse, which is their home and also the Guest Farm Reception, they have 5 cottages: Bergsig: 3 bedrooms (2 with double beds and 1 with 2 single beds), 2 bathrooms. Blinkwater: 2 bedrooms (1 with a double bed and 1 with 2 single beds), 1 bathroom. Kingfisher: 2 bedrooms (both with en-suite bathrooms and both with double beds. Kranskuil: 2 bedrooms (both with double beds), a loft with 3 single beds, 2 bathrooms (1 with shower and 1 with bath). Getsemaane: 4 bedrooms (all 4 with double beds) and 2 lofts each with 2 single beds), 2 bathrooms. Angelique was very friendly, and she immediately invited us to come and see the farm. We booked Kranskuil which was far from the other cottages because we wanted to be nude for the whole weekend, of course. At that stage, the new Pindrop Guest Farm had not opened yet. It happened to be a long weekend at the end of April, and we had booked the Friday and Saturday nights there. On Thursday, 27th April (Freedom Day), Amanda and I were tanning at our SunEden home, when I asked Amanda what she thought of us camping at Kiepersolkloof that night and I suggested that we also camp there on the Sunday night after our two nights at Pindrop, and much to my surprise, she loved the idea. Monday, 1st May was also a Public Holiday. Within an hour we had loaded our tent and camping equipment and we were on our way. As usual, we received a warm welcome at the Kiepersolkloof Gate but apart from Herman, this time, a very good friend of ours, Fritz, from Randfontein, was also there to meet us. Everybody loves Fritz and it was great to see him again after not seeing him for a few years. We drove down to the Camping Area, and we erected the tent and we unpacked. While unpacking, Wynand, and later JJ, popped around and welcomed us. It is always nice to feel welcome. Eddie, Gail, Pieter and Drika were also camping there, and it was super to see them again. We also saw our good friend, Derek, who is such a nice guy. On the Friday morning we had breakfast and then we drove to the Pindrop Guest Farm in the Groot Marico area, which was less than an hour’s drive from Kiepersolkloof. Andre and Angelique gave us a HUGE welcome. After a quick chat, we were given the key for Kranskuil and we drove through the whole farm to the very private house at the end of the road โ passing the other 4 cottages on the way. They all looked very nice. Kranskuil overlooks the Marico River, and the view of the river is “WOW”. There is a wooden deck with a built-in braai. Next to the house, there is a cliff, which actually becomes a feature within the 2 bathrooms of the house. Next to the cliff, overlooking the river, there is a bonfire area. The kitchen was well-equipped, so Amanda was very happy. Downstairs there are 2 lovely bedrooms and 2 bathrooms โ 1 with a bath and the other with a shower. There is also a nice lounge. Upstairs is a loft with 3 single beds so in total, 7 people could sleep in that house. There are large trees near the house so there is plenty of shade for the cars. The lawns next to the river are ideal for tanning. There is complete privacy, so we spent most of the weekend nude. On the Saturday morning, Amanda and I went for a walk, and we looked at some of the cottages. Andre and Angelique popped around for a few drinks and a chat on the Saturday afternoon and Andre mentioned that he is busy upgrading and maintaining the cottages which he hoped to complete before summer. He is also upgrading the electricity. Angelique mentioned their plans to turn Pindrop into a world class facility with camping areas, swimming pools, a pub, party facilities and a lot more. We became excited on their behalf. South Africa needs more world class naturist facilities. We decided to give them our full support. On the Sunday, we had breakfast and then after saying our goodbyes, we headed back to Kiepersolkloof where our tent was still looking good even though it had rained overnight. That night we arranged to have a braai and bonfire with everybody on the farm. Wynand, Zelda, Fritz, Herman and Irene joined us as well as Eddie, Gail, Pieter, Drika and other guests. We enjoyed the long weekend so much and headed for home feeling completely refreshed. Thank you, Andre and Angelique, for your hospitality. We loved every minute.
