A Nude Vacation of a Lifetime August 2024

A Nude Vacation of a Lifetime – AANR Bulletin August 2024 | Joxilox Tours Guest Review · AANR The Bulletin · August 2024 A Nude Vacation of a Lifetime By John Shaw, Susan Payne and Diane Brosious 📖 As featured in AANR The Bulletin – August 2024 About the Authors John Shaw, his wife Susan Payne, and good friend Diane Brosious live full time at Lake Como. They all like to travel and often go on trips together. They are all in their mid-to-late 70’s and John and Susan are former owners of Cedar Creek Park Nudist Resort in South Carolina. ⭐ Guest Review – Lake Como, Florida, USA Last fall we (John Shaw, Diane Brosious, and Susan Payne) were talking about taking a trip to Africa for a safari. We contacted various travel groups to get some ideas of what to see and the cost. Not long after we started the search we heard about Joxilox, a nude travel provider in South Africa, from our nude travel provider Castaways Travel, The Woodlands, Texas. John contacted them and we started planning. Our trip was for 22 days. Joxilox basically made the tour to fit our desires. Our trip included six game drives, two animal sanctuaries, four nudist/naturist resorts, and more. It was full board and we were responsible for beverages. We flew into Johannesburg and were met at the airport by Athol (Lofty) Lutge and Amanda Foster, the owners of Joxilox. After a 90-minute drive we arrived at Sun Eden Naturist Park. We stayed in the Pixie Palace, a 2-bedroom/2-bath house with an amazing thatched roof. This was basically our home base for the next three weeks. We would stay there between travels to other areas. Lofty and/or Amanda accompanied us to all of the places we visited. At breakfast the first morning we met our fellow travelers, couples from Australia, England, and Sweden. Our group of nine would be together for the first two weeks of our adventure. We were instructed to pack a small bag with enough clothes for three days. After breakfast we drove to Lauma Aurora, a naturist camping area. While driving we saw giraffes along the road and couldn’t figure out why they didn’t slow down for us to photograph them. Lauma Aurora was rustic and very welcoming. We had individual cabins. There were 12 cabins so they could accommodate up to 24 people. There was a small pool with a lounging area and a wonderful fire pit where we met in the evenings. The owners did all the cooking for us. You ate what was prepared. The challenge for the owners is load sharing. There is a period every day when the government of South Africa turns off the electricity for hours at a time. Breakfast and dinner times were scheduled around this and we were all given flashlights when darkness fell. On the second day we lounged around the campground and had a braii (barbecue) for dinner. The owners were a wonderful, friendly couple and the food was great. Up and traveling again after breakfast. On our way to Kiepersolkloof Sun Village we stopped at an elephant sanctuary and stopped for lunch at an old railroad depot restaurant. Kiepersolkloof is a beautiful park operated as a co-op. We had a cabin with two bedrooms. There are cabins, but most of the visitors arrive in caravans (campers). The members cooked meals for us. Again, it was local food. Susan went for a hike on the property, Di sunbathed at the pool, and John rested. We returned to Sun Eden for the weekend. It has a nice restaurant where we ate our meals, a lovely swimming pool, and beautiful grounds with wild animals roaming. There was a special Valentine’s Dinner on Saturday night and a dance. They generally have a dance twice a month. Off and traveling again. This time to Bird of Paradise Naturist Resort. Again the owners cooked for us. We had local food including milva for dessert. While there we took a riverboat ride for lunch. The owners arranged it so you could be nude on the boat. They supplied sarongs for the trip to the river. This place had beautiful landscaping, a small pool, excellent food, and comfortable rooms. They are building more rooms and have a caravan area. We spent two nights here and then returned to Sun Eden with stops at a Cultural Center and African market. The Big Five & Beyond Game Drives – Dinokeng, Pilanesberg & Kruger Now we start the game drive part of the trip. We went to Dinokeng Game Reserve. The vehicles were modified pickup trucks that held three rows of seating. There was a roof, but no windows. We saw so many giraffes that we realized why we didn’t slow down earlier. We saw warthogs, impala (many of these), and more. The second game drive left at 4:15 a.m. We viewed black rhinos, lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants, and jackals. Being a tourist in South Africa is hard work! We said our goodbyes to six of our fellow travelers over the weekend and now it is just Diane, John, and Susan with Lofty and Amanda. The next location for game drives was in Pilanesberg. We stayed at the Valley View Hotel (the only textile location during our entire trip). The owner was a retired executive chef and our host. As you can imagine, the food was excellent. At 6 a.m. we started our game drive. We saw a crash (large group) of black rhinos, a single white rhino, wildebeest, more animals, and a journey (large group) of giraffes. On our afternoon game drive we saw lots of zebras, elephants, plus many animals we had already seen. Back to Sun Eden. We spent the afternoon at a lion and cheetah sanctuary. The animals have been rescued from various locations and are well cared for by professionals. The white lions were especially beautiful. Now the highlight of our game drives. We had a very scenic
Joxilox Big5 Safari Jan and Feb 2025

Joxilox Big5 Safari January and February 2025 | Joxilox Tours Newsletter · January & February 2025 Joxilox Big5 SafariJanuary and February 2025 By Lofty and Amanda ⭐ Fully Updated Tour – From January 2025 Our most popular tours, by far, are the Joxilox Big5 Safari Group Tours because most of our international guests want to see the Big5 – Elephants, Rhinos, Buffaloes, Lions and Leopards. Over the past 10 years we have spoken to our guests and that is their top priority, followed closely by their wish to be nude as often as possible. The other important item is luxury accommodation with an en-suite bathroom. Guests also indicated that they do not like to move accommodation often – packing luggage is a “pain”. They also do not want to travel too much each day and if it is a long trip then they want to stop and stretch their legs every 2 hours. With this in mind, we changed our itineraries as from January 2025 to combine the Big5 Safari with luxury accommodation which is either 100% naturist or luxury accommodation which is private enough to be able to be nude. Amanda and I did research and then we designed the updated “Joxilox Big5 Safari Naturist Group Tour”. The excursions are also important, so we included the top 10 excursions which our naturist guests liked the most. This year, the January tour as well as the February tour included the above requirements, and we were interested to see if the new types of accommodation and updated itineraries would impress our guests. SunEden is where we are based and the Dinokeng Game Reserve is only 4 kms away so we included Dinokeng as well as the Pilanesberg Game Park and of course, the Kruger National Park. We added the Desnudo Naturist Resort which had opened less than a year ago and we added the Rhino and Lion Park which is close to Desnudo. We changed our accommodation to more luxurious accommodation in both Pilanesberg and Kruger. For the first time, we started and ended our tours at Desnudo which is very close to the Lanseria Airport and closer to the OR Tambo International Airport than SunEden, with much better roads. The other advantage was that Desnudo offers meals every day and their meals were “WOW”, and their prices were reasonable. There is also no minimum number of guests required so if there are only 4 people, the Desnudo Restaurant would always be open. The nearest excursion to Desnudo is the Lesedi Cultural Village and the Harties Cableway and not far away is Maropeng in the Cradle of Humankind and the Rhino and Lion Park which our guests enjoyed. After the first weekend, we drove to Marloth Park which is 18kms from the Crocodile Bridge Entrance of Kruger, but it was a long drive which took about 6 hours including a stop at the Alzu Petro Stop, where there are lots of restaurants and shops as well as many wild animals such as Rhinos, Buffaloes and some large antelope. The Schoemanskloof Pass was beautiful, and our guests noted how the terrain changed as we drove further. We passed coal mines, forests, trout farms, citrus farms, sugar cane farms and banana farms. Continuing the Tour Marloth Park, SunEden & Pilanesberg We arrived at Marloth Park late on the Monday afternoon and our guests were very impressed with the luxury accommodation, the private swimming pool and the complete privacy – so the clothes were quickly removed. They were mostly impressed by the wild animals that arrived one after another to enjoy Amanda’s food such as pellets and crush. We were there for 4 nights, and we did 3 half-day safaris in Kruger where we saw most of the Big5. Our guide is without doubt the most passionate ranger in Kruger. His speciality is finding the leopards which is not easy. The recent floods made his task more difficult, but he still managed to find most of what we wanted to see. Our guests took many pictures of the animals on the safaris as well as all the animals which popped around at the house. Each night we enjoyed delicious meals at our favourite restaurants in Marloth Park. On the Friday morning, we drove from Marloth Park to SunEden and our guests were very happy with the Deluxe accommodation there. Our guests got to know some of the residents and local guests of SunEden. We did some safaris in Dinokeng as well as a visit to the Lion and Cheetah Sanctuary where our guests stroked cheetahs. On the Monday, we drove to Adventure With Elephants, near Bela Bela, and our guests were amazed with the memory of the elephants – they received beautiful pictures taken by the professional photographer. From SunEden we drove to Pilanesberg where we stayed at much better accommodation than previously. There was also a private splash pool where we could be nude. We had 3 safaris in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and Amanda was happy because our favourite guides were appointed to handle our game drives. The one ranger was in such a hurry to get to the Big5 that we called his vehicle a Safari Ferrari. They really tried their best to find what we wanted to see. Once our guests had completed the safaris in Dinokeng, Pilanesberg and Kruger, we were thrilled that our guests had seen the Big5. We had given our guests a book containing the animals and birds which they might see, and they managed to tick many off. The last two nights were spent at Desnudo where our guests could relax before their flights home. During those last 2 days, our guests transferred their tour pictures to our iPhones by airdrop which we added to a memory stick prepared with interesting videos, pictures and links. We then gave each guest a Joxilox memory stick. We are so fortunate that most of our guests talk highly about our tours and many return for a second
Joxilox Cape Tour March 2025

Joxilox Cape Tour March 2025 | Joxilox Tours Newsletter · March 2025 Joxilox Cape TourMarch 2025 By Lofty and Amanda 🌊 Our First Joxilox Cape Group Tour In February 2024 we had a very happy American guest who decided to book another tour with us. Last time it was a Big5 Naturist Group Tour which included Kruger, Pilanesberg and Dinokeng, but this time she decided to attend the Joxilox Cape Group Tour in March 2025. We were thrilled to have her back and grateful that she had told so many of her naturist friends about her Big5 Tour at her home (Lake Como Naturist Resort in Tampa, Florida) and when she was on the Big Nude Boat. Amanda and I drove down from SunEden, north of Pretoria, to Cape Town, in our 8-seater Kombi. We slept over at the Fish Eagle Lodge in Gariep Dam which unfortunately was textile, but very nice accommodation. We spent the next night at family in Cape Town and then we booked into Port Nature Houtbay on the Friday. If you have not been to Port Nature Houtbay, we suggest that you go there and meet the naturist owners, Craig and Nat (Natasha) who are lovely people. They have a 2 bedroomed chalet and a 1 bedroomed cottage so there is place for 3 couples. We unpacked and then went through to the airport to pick up the guests. We have previously taken guests on a private tour from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town including the beautiful Garden Route, but this was our first Joxilox Cape Group Tour. It was also the first time that our guests flew straight from Atlanta to Cape Town and back. We were excited as we waited for them at the airport. Our guests were impressed with the accommodation and especially the warm welcome from Craig and Nat. Our first 7 nights were spent at Port Nature Houtbay but our first full day (Saturday) was a day of rest after the long flight. We spent time at the perfectly clear swimming pool, and we tanned for a few hours. Nat supplied the meals which included a delicious South African Braai done by Craig. Our guests always enjoy a braai. On that Sunday, the weather was sunny, so we decided to go to the Sandy Bay Naturist Beach which is not far from Houtbay. Having said that, it is a long walk from the car park to the beach. I was hoping that the Atlantic Ocean would be warmer in February and March, but it was freezing cold. Some of the local Western Province Naturists stopped for a chat and it was super to catch up with them. The itinerary from the Monday was busy, including Table Mountain, Bo Kaap, V&A Waterfront Boat Cruise, another boat cruise to Seal Island, Boulders Penguins, Cape Point, Spiced Route Wine, Spirits and chocolate tasting and of course a drive at Chapman’s Peak. Each day, breakfast was supplied by Nat at Port Nature Houtbay and we had lunch and dinner at restaurants. The Journey Continues West Coast & Garden Route On the Friday, after 7 days in Cape Town, we headed for the West Coast via Table Bay and Bloubergstrand. That view of the sea and Table Mountain is beautiful. We went to KhwaTtu, where our guests went on a tour of the Khoisan Museum and Facilities where we had lunch. We then booked into their very luxurious chalets which have hot tubs and privacy. In the next few days, we went to Paternoster, Langebaan and surrounding areas and we went on a catamaran cruise and a safari (game drive). From the West Coast we headed for the Garden Route via Darling and Ceres with a lunch stop and safari at the Aquila Game Reserve. We arrived at the Bare Necessities Naturist Farm, near Swellendam, in time for a scrumptious dinner supplied by our good friends, Neels and Petro, the owners, who were previously shareholders and homeowners at SunEden. Their food is good and the welcome and hospitality is well known. While we stayed at Bare Necessities, we went all the way to Plettenberg Bay via Knysna where we stopped at The Heads. The next day, we went on the famous and most beautiful mountain passes from Barrydale to Oudtshoorn via Ronnies Sex Shop which everybody knows, has nothing to do with sex. We had a nice chat to Ronnie and his wife and one of our guests bought some shirts. The guests then enjoyed the Cango Caves and Ostriches. On the 3rd day they enjoyed another safari (game drive) on the Garden Route which they really enjoyed despite rain. At Bare Necessities, they milked cows, spent time in the hot tub and they enjoyed the chats with Neels. From Bare Necessities, we headed for Houtbay, via Cape Agulhas and Hermanus and we drove via Betty’s Bay to Gordon’s Bay on arguably the most beautiful drive in South Africa. The last 2 nights of the tour were spent at Port Nature Houtbay, where our guests could rest and pack their luggage before we sadly said goodbye to them at the airport. Moments from the Tour Photo Gallery Where We Went Tour Destinations Port Nature Houtbay 7 nights with naturist hosts Craig and Nat – pool, braai and warm hospitality. SunEden Paradise August 2025

We Live in Paradise at the SunEden Naturist Resort | Joxilox Tours Newsletter · Joxilox Tours We Live in Paradise at theSunEden Naturist Resortnear Pretoria By Lofty and Amanda 🏆 9th Best Naturist Resort in the World – Traveller’s Digest In the past 2 years, we (Joxilox Tours) have written about many of the naturist resorts and naturist guesthouses which are listed on our Joxilox Map, but we neglected to write about the SunEden Naturist Resort which is where we are based. SunEden is a 34 Hectare game farm which is owned by 50 naturist shareholders, and the farm is about 40km north of Pretoria. SunEden is a naturist/nudist resort so guests can be nude every day, except if it is a Textile Weekend (held in June). There is also a Clothing Optional Weekend (held in November) which is meant to introduce friends or family to the naturist way of life. New visitors do not need to be nude but most of us are nude that weekend. The resort was rated 9th Best Naturist Resort in the World by Traveller’s Digest out of more than 5,000 naturist resorts worldwide. We have been to naturist resorts in 14 countries, and we agree that SunEden is World-Class. Wild animals on the farm include Blesbok, Impala, Njala, Springbok, Duiker, Porcupine, Bush Babies, Mongoose, and all types of wild birds including Ducks and Kingfishers. The weather at SunEden is mostly warm and sunny so the weather is ideal to walk around nude. Guests are always impressed with the facilities but they all comment that the best thing about SunEden is that the people are so friendly. Naturists often talk to each other easier than at textile resorts and so new guests quickly feel part of the family. There are many events arranged monthly and there is a concerted effort to attract the younger naturists. We really do believe that we are living in paradise. If you have not been to SunEden, please book a day visit or a weekend by phone at 0716580165 or send an email to reception@suneden.com. Joxilox Big5 Safari Naturist Group Tour October 2025

Joxilox Big5 Safari Naturist Group Tour October 2025 | Joxilox Tours Newsletter · October 2025 Joxilox Big5 Safari NaturistGroup Tour October 2025 By Lofty and Amanda There is nothing that makes us happier than the guests who book again for another tour. A New Zealand couple attended the Panorama Route Tour a few years ago and they booked again to attend the Big5 Safari Naturist Group Tour which took place in October 2025. What made it even better is that 3 couples who attended that particular Panorama Route Tour, booked again for other tours. The other 2 couples returned to attend our Kwazulu Natal Tour in November 2024. That is a HUGE compliment for us. On the Big5 Safari Tour we take our guests to the Kruger National Park, The Pilanesberg Game Reserve and the Dinokeng Game Reserve which is only 4 kms from SunEden. Apart from the Safaris, we also take our guests to the Lesedi Cultural Village to watch dancing, singing and to find out all about our diverse cultures. We always smile when our guests joke about buying a wife in South Africa and they wonder where they can buy some cows. On this tour, we went to the Maropeng Cradle of Humankind, the Rhino and Lion Park, the Harties Cableway, the Chameleon Market, the Lion and Cheetah Sanctuary and Adventures with Elephants. The new owner of the SunCafe Restaurant at SunEden, is Monique and she impressed our guests with great food, fast service and she even showed our guests how to have a braai (barbeque) with her famous “pap en sous” – I must say that it was by far the best “pap en sous” that I have had in my life. The accommodation at Marloth Park was really nice and there were many wild animals which popped around for snacks, such as Zebras, Kudus, Impalas, Bush Bucks, Warthogs (Pumbas) and naughty monkeys. On the game drives, our guests saw the Big5 numerous times – Elephants, Rhinos, Buffaloes, Lions and Leopards. We were lucky to see every animal and bird that we wished to see including the Fish Eagles. After the tour, the feedback which we received was that the guests enjoyed the friendly South African Naturists and it was also mentioned that they enjoyed the company of the other guests on that tour. It is always our wish that guests come back again for another tour and that they tell their friends about South Africa and about Joxilox Tours.
