In February 2024 we had a very happy American guest who decided to book another tour with us. Last time it was a Big5 Naturist Group Tour which included Kruger, Pilanesberg and Dinokeng, but this time she decided to attend the Joxilox Cape Group Tour in March 2025. We were thrilled to have her back and grateful that she had told so many of her naturist friends about her Big5 Tour at her home (Lake Como Naturist Resort in Tampa, Florida) and when she was on the Big Nude Boat.
Amanda and I drove down from SunEden, north of Pretoria, to Cape Town, in our 8-seater Kombi. We slept over at the Fish Eagle Lodge in Gariep Dam which unfortunately was textile, but very nice accommodation. We spent the next night at family in Cape Town and then we booked into Port Nature Houtbay on the Friday. If you have not been to Port Nature Houtbay, we suggest that you go there and meet the naturist owners, Craig and Nat (Natasha) who are lovely people. They have a 2 bedroomed chalet and a 1 bedroomed cottage so there is place for 3 couples.
We unpacked and then went through to the airport to pick up the guests. We have previously taken guests on a private tour from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town including the beautiful Garden Route, but this was our first Joxilox Cape Group Tour. It was also the first time that our guests flew straight from Atlanta to Cape Town and back. We were excited as we waited for them at the airport.
Our guests were impressed with the accommodation and especially the warm welcome from Craig and Nat. Our first 7 nights were spent at Port Nature Houtbay but our first full day (Saturday) was a day of rest after the long flight. We spent time at the perfectly clear swimming pool, and we tanned for a few hours. Nat supplied the meals which included a delicious South African Braai done by Craig. Our guests always enjoy a braai.
On that Sunday, the weather was sunny, so we decided to go to the Sandy Bay Naturist Beach which is not far from Houtbay. Having said that, it is a long walk from the car park to the beach. I was hoping that the Atlantic Ocean would be warmer in February and March, but it was freezing cold. Some of the local Western Province Naturists stopped for a chat and it was super to catch up with them.
The itinerary from the Monday was busy, including Table Mountain, Bo Kaap, V&A Waterfront Boat Cruise, another boat cruise to Seal Island, Boulders Penguins, Cape Point, Spiced Route Wine, Spirits and chocolate tasting and of course a drive at Chapman's Peak. Each day, breakfast was supplied by Nat at Port Nature Houtbay and we had lunch and dinner at restaurants.
