In January 2026 we had the joy of hosting twelve naturists from the USA on our Big Five Safari Naturist Group Tour. All twelve came from the same naturist resort back home, so they already knew one another well — and their easy friendship, laughter and shared card games (a new one even to us!) set the tone for an unforgettable journey. By the end of the tour we had grown genuinely fond of every one of them.
Our Big Five tour takes guests to three remarkable parks: the Dinokeng Game Reserve, the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and the world-famous Kruger National Park. This trip was truly special — for the very first time, our guests spotted leopards at all three reserves, and they completed the full Big Five along the way. One leopard was draped in a tree with an impala kill, enjoying its dinner above us — a sighting even we had never witnessed before.
We honestly believe this group was blessed with remarkable luck, but luck favours a positive mind. As Amanda often says, for every one wild animal we see on safari, another ten see us without us ever knowing — especially the elusive cats like lions, leopards and cheetahs. Guests who arrive with a hopeful, watchful attitude always seem to see more. We can never rely on the guide alone; every extra pair of eyes scanning the bush and the tracks makes the difference, and on this tour our guests saw more than usual precisely because of their wonderful spirit.
One of the highlights was our time at Marloth Park, where the wildlife came to us. Kudus, impalas, warthogs, bushbuck and a busy mongoose family popped around the houses, while giraffes and zebras strolled casually through the village. In the evening we even watched bush babies leaping about the outdoor area of one of the restaurants — a magical, only-in-Africa moment.
Beyond the game drives, our guests enjoyed a rich mix of excursions: the Lesedi Cultural Village, the Chameleon Market, Maropeng Cradle of Humankind, the Sterkfontein Caves, the Harties Cableway and the Lion and Cheetah Sanctuary. It was a full and joyful tour, and we were every bit as delighted to host them as they were to experience the wild beauty of South Africa.
From all of us at Joxilox Tours, thank you to our January 2026 guests for their warmth, their laughter and their sense of adventure. We can’t wait to do it all again.
